The Veils

There are two aspects to the Inquiry Method perspective.  One has to do with our external orientation, our interaction with life.  This is the externalized aspect of inquiry.  When we use inquiry to interact with life, we approach the world with curiosity and wonder. The second aspect of inquiry is the inner journey. This aspect looks at how we work with our internal world.  This, too, is a journey of wonder and curiosity in the best of worlds, but it is also very personal and can be challenging, too.To manifest the external aspect of inquiry we must also master the internal inquiry, as they go hand in hand. Our perceptions of the world are filtered and interpreted through our minds and bodies.  During our development and throughout our lives, we develop prejudices, blocks, and interpretations that interfere with our perceptions and processing of the information that comes in.  These things we carry make it difficult to interact with the world from curiosity and wonder, and they block us from connecting more deeply with ourselves or being able to access the deeper parts of ourselves that I call “Source,” the seat of inner knowing. These interpretations come in three categories: emotional pain, ego and beliefs, and what I call “voids.”When I’m carrying something from one of these categories in my system, it is like having a veil that information must pass through to enter into my consciousness.  The more veils that I have, the more twisted the information coming in is.  Even with the strongest will in the world (which you have) we can only do our best with the information coming in.To be able to skillfully interact with the world, I must clear these veils so that I can see clearly and react appropriately. In addition, once the information coming in is processed, my reaction has to come back out of myself and be expressed in some way.At my core, the expression comes from a loving, caring place, trying to do what is right, what is best; it comes from love.  However, as the expression travels back out through these veils, it gets twisted and changed by my emotional pain, my ego and beliefs, and my voids. This twisted output is not quite what I wanted to communicate or share.  Then, when others receive this communication, it has to go and come back out through their own veils.  It is amazing we can ever communicate or come to agreement about anything (unless our veils match up perfectly). As we use Inquiry Method to clear out the veils, the information coming in gets clearer and clearer, and we are naturally more able to see what is really happening and how to respond. As we clear out the veils, our responses to life become cleaner, more effective, more loving, more skillful, allowing our lives to flow more easily.Every time you are upset, ungrounded, afraid, angry, depressed, ineffective, affected, stuck, unclear, and frustrated, it is because a veil is clouding your perception or your offering.  Each time this is happening you have the opportunity to inquire and clear another veil.  The reward is more of everything—a clearer signal coming in (high def) and a clearer expression going out.
