Unless

We create our lives powerfully and totally every moment through the simplest of mechanisms. By slight internal changes brought about by healing, insight, and awareness, we can simply and authentically change the results of our lives. This mechanism is so simple that it will be obvious when you see it.  Not only does it reveal the real power to make life changing events, but when this mechanism is not working, it reveals the path to insight and deeper understanding of the obstacles we face in having a life that truly supports the deepest part of ourselves.  Inquiry allows us to have a life that is deeply satisfying and truly supplies everything we need. This mechanism is simply the power of yes and no.  Like a computer, your life is totally constructed in a binary manner by what we say yes to and what we say no to.  Take a moment to fully process that.  Each of us have totally created every aspect of our lives with a yes or a no!Yes and no decisions are happening all of the time, moment to moment.  Most of the decision-making is happening in our subconscious.  Occasionally one of these decisions will come into our awareness because it is a close call, or because there is an inner conflict about what answer to give (cognitive dissonance).  This means we have to think about it, whereas mostly we make these decisions automatically.  However, whenever we turn these decisions over to the subconscious, they are essentially out of our control.Unless.Unless we engage in some form of introspection and self-awareness practice, we are just victims to life.  I call this self-awareness practice “inquiry,” and if we want to transform our outer lives to reflect our unchanging source, our inner selves, then we must practice some type of self-awareness process.  Most of us just take it as it comes.  However, through the tools of inquiry, we can touch the underpinnings of all those yes’s and no’s and thereby change the nature of our lives. It is so simple.  Inquiry gives us the power to shape our lives.  So few of us do it.  Let’s get started.I tip my hat to Don Miguel Ruiz for the inspiration for this blog.
