Tools and Resources for Level II
Kyle recently published Life at Altitude: Elevating How We Think, Feel, and Experience Life. It’s a starting point for living life at altitude. In order to allow readers to go deeper, we’ve added more tools on our website for every section of the book. You’ll find the resources for the chapter on Level II here.
Level II: Mind
FREEDOM FROM ideas, thoughts, and beliefs
Going forward, if we wish to continue to grow, it’s important to look at our mental selves. This means looking at our thoughts, self-image, and identity, and how they filter and interpret our lives for us.
The level we’re looking at now is level II, the level of mind, ego, identity, beliefs, concepts, thoughts, and ideas. If we can get objective and go to a higher level of consciousness around the perception of ourselves and look at the ideas, beliefs, judgments, and shame that we carry within ourselves then we can choose to work with those elements within ourselves. When we do the work at this level, we free ourselves from the mental obstacles that limit us.
Kyle views our growth and our philosophical being as a pyramid, with a solid foundation representing stability and the pinnacle representing altitude. The pyramid shape identifies five levels of consciousness, from base to top. As we practice and expand each one, it creates more stability, and as we learn to experience each one fully, we move up a level and discover greater altitude. While many might want to go straight to living at the pinnacle, living at altitude, you can’t have a pyramid without a solid base. You can use the tools below to take more steps towards achieving this stable base.
