How much time do you spend with the thought, or some form of the thought, “I wish things were different,” or “things could be better,” or perhaps “things should be better”?In some cases this is a worthy thought as it may lead to some invention or intervention that moves things along to a new situation. What percentage of your “things could be better” thoughts lead to real innovation and change?  You may find that these questions are useful when you have energy to solve problems and the power to do so.  Try to recognize these moments and act with creativity and grace. However, you may find that a large percentage of these “things could be better” thoughts have to do with things that you are powerless to change and tend to spring from pessimism, negativity, and judgment. It is an interesting inquiry to ask yourself what would happen if you quit thinking “things could be better” or any form of that thought.Let’s say you lost the ability to conceive of the idea that “things could be better” (without losing your ability to innovate and create).  How would you relate to the world? If things couldn’t be better, then what would they be?When we have the thought, Things couldn’t be any better, what can be said?
