Material Wishes
During my local Monday night Inquiry Method™ group the other night, I asked a significant question. I stood in front of the group and asked “if you had one material wish, what would it be?” Before you continue reading this blog, I’d like you to answer that question yourself. Identify what you would use your one wish for…Some of you may be thinking this is a trick question, but it’s not. All of us have material desires and wishes, things that we imagine would make our lives better, happier, more meaningful, more profound. On one hand, the desire for things that we do not have can create unhappiness. On the other hand, the awareness of these wants can also do something extremely powerful: reveal our most profound and core values. They can be a wonderful tool to show us what we really care about. For example, imagine your one wish was a beautiful, 50-foot Katch-rigged sailboat. While it may simply seem like a boat, this wish would actually reveal much more about you. The want for a boat could show that you value freedom, adventure, time with family, and exploration. It could also reveal that you wish for financial abundance, or you value security, or you want to provide for your family. As you see, this one physical desire can mean many things, and there is never a right or wrong answer as to what it relates to.No matter what, looking into your desire will reveal your deepest values. Once you know these values, you can begin to introduce them into your everyday life. You can bring the quality of adventure, or laughter, or love, or security, or whatever you value, into your everyday life once you recognize its importance to you. Once you introduce this, you’ll likely find that having these qualities in your life will give you more than the nicest boat ever would. One of the things that we often forget or disregard is how profoundly loving and caring we all are at the core. We forget that no matter how shadowed it can become by our egos and minds, this love is always there in your heart and in the hearts of everyone around us. As you pursue Inquiry Method™, this is what you are ultimately trying to uncover: the truth of who you really are.The Freedom Experience is a meaningful way to discover the profound beauty of your heart and the hearts of others. This is just one of the many topics we will be exploring at the Freedom Experience which will help you reach your true potential. We hope that you will join us on our journey to becoming the best we can be.Much love,Kyle
