Enjoying What You Have

Hey everyone! Olivia here. In this 13 minute blog, Kyle takes us through how to use this time to slow down our lives and start to appreciate what we have. This time is an opportunity to shift into gratitude for the people and things that we have already. In slowing down we can also start to get in touch with what lights us up and how we want to spend our time.

Key Take-Aways:

  • Having more is a mainstay of our culture. Think about it, the push of the colonists to move out west to settle, our GDP has to grow every year, and almost everyone in their business and personal life spends a good portion of time thinking about more.

  • We can tell globally that more is unsustainable. In this time where there is less travel our skies are clearing up! Our world is finally getting the rest is needs from the drive for more.

  • Getting more creates the sensations in our body that we are craving and yearning for. That drive to consume more and have more can get really addictive. You start to ask yourself, “When am I going to get more? How can I have more? How do I fill myself if I don’t have more.” Getting out of that loop requires creating a new sensibility.

  • When I come to a stop I can appreciate what I have. I can be grateful for what’s around me. You can start to slow down because in not always striving for more you won’t have to do as much.

  • Not doing or needing more I can be more present to the people and the relationships around me. I can start relax into a more natural pace of life.

  • As I slow down I start to notice things around me, all the details, the beauty, and my perception. Things start to come into my awareness that I may have skipped over when I was rushing around.

  • What I really want to do next can flow into my awareness when I slow down. So many of us live each day trying to get through our checklists. And those checklists can be never-ending.

  • When you slow down, which is the opportunity of this time, you can start to ask different questions. “What would my body like right now? How would it like to move? What would I like to eat? What would I like to create? How would I like to spend my time?” Start to feel into what life wants rather than what you think you need to do.

  • Clients on the community calls are realizing that they don’t need as much. When you don’t need as much then you don’t have to do as much and can spend more time on what we’re connected with.
