Tools and Resources for Level IV
Kyle recently published Life at Altitude: Elevating How We Think, Feel, and Experience Life. It’s a starting point for living life at altitude. In order to allow readers to go deeper, we’ve added more tools on our website for every section of the book. You’ll find the resources for the chapter on Level IV here.
Level IV: Collaboration
FILLED and ABUNDANT
The first levels were about freedom from. Levels IV and V are about freedom to.
The process below the line, freedom from, is all about letting go, acceptance, and approval. Freedom to is the willingness to make yourself available to the world. The way you get free below the line is all about letting go. The basic question below the line is what do I need to let go of to be free. The basic question above the line is what do I need to express to be free.
Freedom to is the phase where we begin to see our life as a work of art. Into that expansive space, we begin to express ourselves, our creativity. In many ways, this is the hardest stage of all; to create, we have to be able and willing to step forward with our fears, risking what we hold dearest, risking rejection and humiliation.
We’re not ready for this self-expression until we’re awake and have come most of the way through freedom from. Once we’re ready and using the tools learned in freedom from, we can begin to build the exhilarating and challenging context to give us freedom to.
The experience at this level is that of collaboration with everyone around us. Imagine you have a reservoir inside you that’s your container for holding aliveness, vitality, love, and so on. From this tank, you can give this energy in different forms to people, to work, to time, and you can also spend it throughout the day doing different things that deplete you energetically, such as worrying.
