A Tool to Reduce Stress and Worry
Hi all! Olivia here. In this video, Kyle gives you an easy stress and time-management tool that helps you to solve problems in the present moment. If you find yourself overwhelmed with your to-do list you will get a lot out of watching this video.
KEY TAKE-AWAYS:
Having a pile of undone tasks on your desk can take effort every time you see it.
Kyle likes to be “complete” every moment. When a worry or a task comes up you deal with it in one of three ways:
1) Do it. Take care of it as soon as you have the thought. Worry is a useful alarm clock that reminds you that you need to do something. When you take care of something in the moment there is a sense of release that occurs and frees you up to actually have more energy.
2) Schedule it. Literally put in your schedule and commit to taking care of the task at its designated time. As soon as you’ve scheduled it you can treat it as if you’ve already taken care of the thing in this moment. You can completely let it go and take it off your plate.
3) Let it go. Decide not to do it and let it go.
** Optional 4th category if you are an administrator or manager of a business. The to-do list. You have to be careful with this so it doesn’t feel like a burden. Choose 5-6 things to clear off today and the rest go on the back burner. Don’t forget you can delegate you to-do list but make sure you create accountability with the person you are handing the task off to.
It’s MUCH more efficient to handle everything in the present moment. People often spend unnecessarily worry about something or touch a piece of paper 10 times, which takes a lot of time and energy.
