Taking Responsibility Based on Our Own Inner Truth
This week's blog comes during a time of social upheaval. With everything that is going on in our society, each person is likely to have their own reactions and their own feelings. Sometimes, our true inner feelings may be hidden under what Kyle calls "majority consciousness". On one of our Membership Calls this week, Kyle encouraged members to recognize the difference between their own inner truth versus majority consciousness.
Kyle and Raven discuss what it means to set aside majority consciousness and check-in with yourself about what is true for you. Kyle explains how we can take responsibility for ourselves and use that to take action.
Key Takeaways:
It is hard to discern between our own experience and majority consciousness
Majority consciousness is a view that is presented outside of ourselves and can dictate our own feelings about something
It's easy to get attached to an idea and concept about what is going on
There are so many different truths about what is going on, if we pick just one we miss the bigger picture
Guilt means we should be doing something
As one person among the other 7.8 billion people in the world, we can each take individual responsibility, which is 1 divided by 7.8 billion
We have 0.00000000012% responsibility, which is microscopic!
To take responsibility, we have to get clear about what is true for us and how we operate in this situation
How can you express yourself based on what is true for you?
We are only responsible for ourselves and we can choose how we show up
We don't have any more power than we actually have
Act from your heart instead of your head
