Optimize Your Life
My primary commitment to myself is to optimize my life. I am in constant search inside and out for ideas, techniques, understandings, blocks, baggage, ideas that don’t support me, perspectives, knowledge, practices, diet, exercise, etc. For me, this is the core principal to how I live. I apply this to myself, my relationships, my work, my parenting, my life. With this approach comes humility, inquiry; I have to recognize that I don’t always know how to explore and grow. When I have a curiosity I explore it, when I recognize a block in myself I work toward unraveling it; this is the process for fulfillment. The joy is in the process of life. I see this process as an unfolding arrival, growth, emergence. The balance between humility, arrival, knowing and not knowing gives me the full feeling of being alive, and it is not always comfortable.Because I take this way of living for granted, I am often surprised when people do not see it the same way. I love taking the risk of diving for the next opportunity to grow. Many of the things I explore have little value or are dead ends, but when I find something that works, that is reliable, that I can trust to support me in optimizing my life I appreciate and value it so much. For me Inquiry Method is the ongoing, growing expression of this search; it carries the essence of this process of ongoing fulfillment, it is a culmination of all of the paths that lead to fulfillment. What I often see are people who are presented with the doorway and who do not immediately choose it and value it. I see this in clients to whom I suggest outside resources to or make recommendations that I know will move them toward resolving their most immediate concerns and problems. I even see it in friends and family of those that practice Inquiry Method. I see it in people who are impacted by the practice of Inquiry Method and then do not continue the exploration. I also recognize the part of me that does not always pursue what serves me.My questions to you who have experienced Inquiry Method are:
- What keeps you from recognizing and stepping through the door that leads to fulfillment?
- What can you think of that would make it easier to do or more accessible?
- What encourages you to keep doing the work, or to initiate it?
- What would help you to value your growth over the distractions that surround you?
